Karissa Leigh Designs is based in Wesley Chapel, just north of New Tampa, so getting to the studio does not mean fighting your way across town.
A Session That Feels Like Your Family
The goal is not a row of stiff smiles. It is the real stuff: the toddler who will not sit still, the big sister who cannot stop laughing, the quiet moment when Mom and Dad forget the camera is there. Karissa keeps things relaxed and moving, with simple prompts that get kids playing and parents close. Kids tend to warm up faster than their parents expect.
Studio or Outdoors
Sessions can be held in the studio or at an outdoor location. Outdoors, New Tampa has plenty of green space, from the wooded trails at Flatwoods Park to the quiet corners of your own neighborhood. The hour before sunset brings the softest light and the most comfortable temperatures. Babies and toddlers often do best in the studio, especially in summer.
Choosing a Session
A 30 minute session covers the essentials for a smaller family and works well for holiday card photos. The full hour leaves room for more groupings, individual portraits of each child, and a slower pace for little ones who need a snack break. Turning one soon? The milestone mini is a simple way to celebrate. Bring your own cake and let your baby dig in.
Where Will These Live?
Before your session, think about two things. First, the one photo you would be heartbroken not to have. Second, where your favorites will end up: a large print in the living room, an album the kids can flip through, or cards for family out of state. Telling Karissa up front means she can shape the session around the photos you actually plan to print.
