What Changes the Price
A few things move a maternity session from one end of the range to the other.
Session Length
Thirty minutes is enough for one look and a handful of portraits. An hour leaves room for a second outfit and for your partner or children to join you. Two hours means nobody watches the clock. There is time to change, sit down and rest, try the sweeping fabric shots, and still catch the quiet moments in between.
Number of Edited Images
The sessions include 5, 15, or 50 or more edited images. If you fall for more of your gallery than your session includes, additional images are $25 each. If you already know you want enough photos for an album, choose the session with the image count to match.
Outfits and Wardrobe
The Mini includes one outfit, Elegant includes two, and Prestige allows up to four. Karissa keeps a full maternity wardrobe in a range of colors and sizes, and you can plan your looks together before the session. Hair and Makeup
Professional hair and makeup is available as a $300 add on with the Elegant and Prestige sessions. It is optional. Some mothers love arriving camera ready, and others prefer their everyday look. Either way, mention it when you book.
Prints and Albums
If you are picturing a large canvas in the nursery, or an album that will sit beside your newborn photos, tell Karissa before your session. She can plan poses and framing around the prints you actually want, and walk you through the printed options for your gallery.
When to Book
Most maternity sessions are photographed between 28 and 34 weeks. Your bump is round and clearly defined, and you are usually still comfortable enough to stand, stretch, and move through several poses. Because that window is only about six weeks long, it helps to reserve your date early.
If you would like newborn photos too, the Maternity and Newborn Bundle pairs both sessions. It starts at $580 with 30 edited images across the two, and your newborn date is held around your due date before your baby arrives. For a full year of portraits, the Bump to Baby Collection is $1,400 and follows your family through four sessions, from pregnancy to your baby's first birthday.
