Karissa Leigh Designs is based in Wesley Chapel, so the studio is a short drive from Epperson. That matters when your subjects are two and four years old and every car ride is a negotiation.
Built Around Little Kids
Epperson is full of young families, so these sessions are planned around small children. Book a morning slot if your kids are at their best after breakfast, or the hour before sunset if the afternoon nap is sacred. Bring snacks, bring a favorite toy, and expect a break or two. Karissa gives simple, playful prompts (a race to Mom, a secret whispered in Dad's ear) that get real laughter instead of stiff smiles.
Studio or Outdoors
The studio is the calm choice for crawlers and brand new walkers, and a welcome escape on a July afternoon. Outdoor sessions shine from October into spring, when the evening light turns soft and gold and nobody is melting. Karissa will suggest a spot that suits your crew and is easy to reach from home.
Choosing a Session
With one or two small children, the 30 minute session is often plenty, since toddlers rarely give more than that anyway. The full hour leaves room for more groupings, a portrait of each child, and a slower pace if someone needs a reset. And if your baby is about to turn one, the milestone mini was made for it. You bring the cake. Karissa photographs every frosting covered minute.
Start With the Photo You Cannot Miss
Before your session, think about the one image you would be heartbroken not to get. Maybe it is your toddler asleep on Dad's shoulder, or all of you piled together and laughing. Then think about where it will live: a large print in the playroom, an album the kids can flip through, or this year's holiday card.
